We leave Interlaken in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive along the lake shore to Iseltwald. A traditional small village at the picturesque lake of Brienz. We stroll around and take pictures of the great view and enjoy Switzerland off the beaten path. If you like enjoy a cold bath in the turquoise lake Brienz. Iseltwald and the Giessbach were film locations of “Crash landing on you”.
Our second stop are the famous Giessbach waterfalls above the lake of Brienz. Get impressed by the 14 waterfalls. Go for a walk “under the waterfall”, explore some hidden view points or simply relax at the terrace of the Swiss historic Grand-hotel Giessbach and enjoy the great view or a delicious lunch.
From the Grandhotel we continue to Brienz by car. But if you like there is an option to ride with Europe’s oldest funicular down to the lake. You cross the lake by boat and i'll pick you up by car on the other side in Brienz from where you’ll take a boat to cross the lake to Brienz,
Brienz is famous for its traditional chalet houses and woodcarving art. Stroll around the wonderful lake promenade, visit the woodcarving shop where you can watch the woodcarvers (closed on sundays) and buy some typical cow souvenirs from the local wood manufacturer.
Keen to have lunch? Enjoy some delicious Swiss food at one of the restaurants at the lake or enjoy a picnic at the lake.
In the afternoon, after a short drive, we’ll reach Meiringen and the Aare Gorge. This hidden treasures. The Aare Gorge presents you the power of water and nature welcomes you to a different world: This amazing Gorge can be visited by just stepping a few meters into the gorge or hiking 45 minutes through (easy walk and highly recommended) From November – March the Aare Gorge is closed and you’ll visit instead the picturesque Lauterbrunnen valley.
If you travel with children a visit to the alpine zoo can be included. Furthermore there are many kids playgrounds on this tour to entertain our youngest guests.
